Reader’s Question:

What are the advantages and disadvantages of a term life insurance?

Chris

Montgomery AL

First let us define what what life insurance is in order to better understand what term life ins is. An Alabama life insurance is a contract that is entered into by an individual, which owns the policy, and the insurance company. Under this agreement, the company will pay the individual an agreed upon amount of money in the event that the individual dies, for example. The individual on the other hand will pay the company what is called a premium at regular times.

A term life ins, or sometimes called as term assurance, is a type of life insurance the provides an individual coverage for only a limited period or term. Its main difference with a regular life insurace is that it gives “pure” insurance. It does not have other features found in “cash value” policies. Generally, a term insurance policy will offer you a term of 1 year which can be renewed for up to 30 years. The premium remains constant while the term has not yet expired. Some insurance compaies also give you th choice to choose a specific age as a term end.

A term insurance thus will only release the benefit if you die within the term. While you may be hesitant to get one because of this, this feature in fact is its best quality. A term life insurance is pretty useful especially if you’re still young. People with limited income can utilize this since they encounter situations where the need declines as time passes.

The biggest disadvantage of a term insurance is that if you decide to renew it, the premium that you have to pay is higher. But if you can give the company evidence of your insurability, then there is a chance that you could get a lower rate.

A term life ins is just one of the many types of life insurance that you can select. This type of insurance works well if you’re planning for a short coverage. Try it out yourself.

Reader’s Question:

I’ve been wanting to invest in a life insurance policy here in Montgomery Alabama AL but still want to be able to access my money in case of emergency. Does term life insurance offer that?

Lily

Montgomery, AL

Well, Lily, it looks like you may need to look not only into term life insurance coverage in Montgomery Alabama AL but also whole life insurance coverage, as well. You see, term life insurance is actually a temporary insurance coverage, for a period which you will define. Usually, it only provides benefits in case of death during that period but if nothing happens at the end of the period, you forfeit any rights to access your previous investment. Whole life insurance is different in that it continues to provide coverage while you continue to pay your premiums or until your policy matures. It accumulates your premiums and increases its cash value through the years you keep it in force. More often than not, you will also be allowed to access the cash value of your whole life insurance policy by withdrawing from or surrendering your policy. Some insurers in Montgomery Alabama AL also allow you to use your policy as collateral for a loan.

I think you’d do well to get free quotes from insurance companies in Montgomery Alabama AL by entering your zip code on this site. It would be good to compare their offers to determine which ones would best meet your needs at the price and terms that are acceptable to you.

Reader’s Question:

I don’t know how I will sound with this but for curiosity’s sake, I’ll ask this question. I am from Huntsville, Alabama and plan to buy term life insurance soon. Is term life insurance applicable for sick people?

Hero

Huntsville, AL

Hi Hero.

Don’t worry about asking since we’re here to answer your curiosity. Besides, I think your question is very relevant as most people think that term life insurance is for all. The reality is some insurance companies do not qualify people for term life insurance for the following conditions:

• age of above 50
• with health problems
• chronic smokers

The conditions above are considered as insurance risks for many term life insurance companies in Huntsville, AL. Insurance risk means that the insured may be at risk of dieing anytime within the term. This is not a good sign for the insurance company as they would be obliged to pay the insurance accordingly and very soon. If ever, there are companies who think that it’s ok to insure the persons with conditions above, they would charge higher premiums.

So to answer your question, insurance companies usually do not qualify sick person for term life insurance. They would rather offer other insurance products that suit the person’s conditions such as life insurance for the ill or smoker’s life insurance. In other words, there are life insurance products that specializes different conditions of the person. Term life insurance is generally for those with no health problems but with concerns on beneficiaries’ needs in the event of sudden or unexpected death. Term life insurance is not generally suitable for sick persons.

Richard

Thank you for asking Richard.

You will notice that there will be different charts when you’re getting your quotes in Alabama for both men and women that are broken down into columns by gender, age, smoker and non-smoker and amount of coverage you need and length of insurance policy. Some of this is easy to determined, such as gender and age, but you have to take a good look at how much coverage you’ll actually be needing, why you’ll be needing that amount, based on actual figures, how much you can afford to pay and more. If you have not figured out the exact reasons why you need a cheap term life insurance then you’re not ready to purchase it yet.

Purchasing term life insurance in Alabama is just like knowing why you’re on a budget. You have a certain amount of money that has to to be spent on a certain amount of time until more comes in. Certain things must be taken care of with that amount of money and a certain amount gets put away for emergencies.
